Holograms: If They Were Real

I decided to ask people what they would use science fiction inventions for. I mean we are going to be the ones using it in the end. Interviewing a fellow college student, Kelly, about what she would do if a hologram was real as a cell phone.

1. What do you see hologram being used for?

I can see it being used as an instructional teaching method for those who need a more visual take on things. As a representative for people who are out of country. OH, and using them for blue prints architecture and things similar to that. The models can be easily changed without having to erase like on paper.

2. What laws or rules do you think would be set for holograms?

Copyright laws

3. Why Copyright Laws?

Well the blueprints would need to have them. I mean you don’t want people stealing those?

4. How would you abuse these Copyright Laws?

I would steal the coding for the hologram or whatever its made of. Some sort of programming stuff that they make hologram from. I’d hack into all holograms to create a virus system override! Hologram takeover!

5. What use would you have for a hologram?

Thats easy because I use it to talk to relatives that are far away so they can physically see me. Also use it for future business meeting especially for international business. If maybe theres a teaching hologram that can help me if nobody can help me with my homework or suppose I get lost and  theres a directional hologram to go ask for help on directions.

I appreciate Kelly for letting me interview on this subject and will be bringing more of these posts. It only makes sense to have a public opinion on inventions when the public will end up using this stuff.

One Response to “Holograms: If They Were Real”

  1. I think this whole series of interview posts is an awesome, totally intriguing idea, but there are a few changes you could make that I think would help your readers understand what is going on. First of all, I think you need to put “Interview” in the title for all the interview posts. This title is different from all the others. Then, I think it would help to put a customized series introduction at the beginning of each interview post (something like “I decided to ask people what they would use science fiction inventions for. I mean we are going to be the ones using it in the end. In this post, #4 in the series, I ask Blahblah about…”). Then you could also improve the bio of each person you interview. Telling me Kelly is a college student doesn’t say much. Maybe give one fact about her or interest that she has. With a series intro at the beginning of each post, someone who is just coming to your blog for the first time understands (1) there are more interview posts to check out (2) what your intent with the series is.

In relevance to this post, have you heard of 3D printers? These printers actually create an object that a user designs on the computer screen. So, it sounds cool, until you think about… what if people could one day print functional 3D guns???
